WorldsAway Flat Rate announcement and Q&A - Early 1998
These are meeting minutes from an inworld meeting with the WorldsAway Manager (unknown who was behind this identity at this meeting) and Brother Echo (Tim Lavalli), moderated by Acolyte Shakespeare. It was a press conference to discuss the announcement of Fujitsu moving WorldsAway to a flat rate model and how that would affect things moving forwards.
The transcript is undated, however there is discussion of when will Club Connect open and the WorldsAway manager says it will be open in June. Club Connect opened in July 1998 so I'm listing this session as being from early 1998 for now. Another earlier meeting was held on the same topic in Hotel Silicon, probably on the same day but that transcript is lost.

WA Manager: I will try to be more clear

WA Manager: of course this is better news for DS than it is for HS

WA Manager: First I will explain the three phases of this process
WA Manager: and then I know Echo wants to say a few words
WA Manager: then I will take ALL questions
WA Manager: so first, as of April 16th we stopped billing all accounts by the hour
WA Manager: so on your most recent bill you were charged only the base rate
WA Manager: that was by design
WA Manager: the next phase will begin early next week
WA Manager: and will effect your next bill
WA Manager: All Gold and Silver plans will be converted to the Dreamscape plan @ $19.95 unlimited
WA Manager: that is for DS only
WA Manager: the Mercury plan becomes Hotel only @ $9.95
WA Manager: and the Bronze will get a web page to convert
WA Manager: Now during this phase two
WA Manager: if you want to access both worlds
WA Manager: you will need to set up an additional account
WA Manager: for Hotel
WA Manager: BUT
WA Manager: you don't have to
WA Manager: we will have all avatars and all possessions
WA Manager: and when we go to phase three we will have multi-world accounts at a discount

WA Manager: and all your stuff will still be there waiting for you
WA Manager: and Club Connect will be on those plans too
WA Manager: if you choose to have two accounts
WA Manager: you will be able to merge them at a later time.
WA Manager: Now Compuserve is a separate billing entity that we do not control
WA Manager: so all of this concerns only internet billing
WA Manager: and since we are not quite in phase two yet
WA Manager: no one needs to do anything today
WA Manager: next week we will let you know when we convert and we will NOT
WA Manager: shut off access to the other world at once
WA Manager: you will have time to open a second account if youlike
