The following is an edited transcript of today's town meeting.

Oracle Electra: Will we ever have head painting sessions or cans to paint heads
Oracle Electra: the answer is no
Oracle Electra: heads are much harder to do than bodies
Oracle Electra: and they would be too hard to check each one to see that it's suitable

Oracle Electra: why are there items that newbies can't afford

Oracle Electra: these are representative of those questions
Oracle Electra: first, for the tokens
Oracle Electra: the numbers of tokens are stable and is in good shape
Oracle Electra: we do not wish to "mess with the economy" but rather, let it take a natural course

Oracle Electra: towards this end, our turfs/items/etc are patterned after what you would expect in RW
Oracle Electra: when you first leave your parents home, you do not expect to own a Rolex or live in a mansion
Oracle Electra: at least most of us don't <grin>
Oracle Electra: and it's the same here
Caretaker Jal: mansions cost too much to heat
Oracle Electra: there are items that are reasonably priced that are aimed at newbies

Oracle Electra: there are turfs in all price ranges
Acolyte Joscelin: wall to wall cheesecloth is too expensive in a realy big place <shrug>
Oracle Electra: everyone WANTS to have everything, but in any economy, we must wait and save for the very best things
Oracle Electra: this is natural and normal
Oracle Electra: so we have attempted to structure the same here
Oracle Electra: with things for all income levels, and an incentive to work your way up
Acolyte Fuggly: that's why i will always be an underduck

Oracle Electra: we will, however, because of their special nature in the overall "personality" wanted by an avie
Oracle Electra: try to keep heads at a reasonable price
Oracle Electra: one that is well within anyone's budget
Oracle Electra: heads are an important aspect of an avatars overall view of him or herself
Oracle Electra: this, of course, means vendo heads
Oracle Electra: we cannot control, not do we want to, what a private avatar asks for any item
Oracle Electra: you, the community, has total contol over that
Oracle Electra: if you pay it, they will charge it
Oracle Electra: if you refuse, prices will drop
Oracle Electra: again, this is like a RW economy
Oracle Electra: next question
Oracle Electra: Being named an Oracle puts a lot of pressure on you to bring back some of the mythology to DS
Oracle Electra: How do you see your new role?
Oracle Electra: and do you think being a Mystical figure will help you influence and direct the community?
Oracle Electra: as for bringing back the mythology
Oracle Electra: I think we have made a huge step in this direction with the Mages
Oracle Electra: and we just got a new one last night
Oracle Electra: MysticCinnamon Mage
Acolyte Fuggly: may I mention... sisters....?
Oracle Electra: anyone who hasn't gone to talk to the Mages in the Jungle should do so
Acolyte Spidey: a very tasty mage.. I might add <VBG>
Acolyte Galaxxi: Tsk .. anything in a robe <shrug>
Oracle Electra: the Mages are right in line with the mythology of the Dreamscape
Oracle Electra: but it's you, the citizens, that must help with bringing back the mythology
Oracle Electra: My being in robes cannot do it
Oracle Electra: nor can I influence it
Oracle Electra: I can offer my help and support
Oracle Electra: but this is more a question of voluntary involvment by those who want it
Oracle Electra: if the mythology aspects are not of interest to someone
Oracle Electra: the Dreamscape has enough other facets to offer something for everyone
Oracle Electra: but for those that enjoy the mythology aspects, we will do our best to keep that alive
Oracle Electra: another big contribution in that area has come from Alayne and her quests
Oracle Electra: the goal there is not the be *the* winner
Oracle Electra: everyone who participates can reach the goal
Oracle Electra: with a bit of work and help from others
