Plugins were user created software compatible with the WorldsAway client and allowed you to extend the functionality beyond what you could normally use inworld. This allowed for the creation of games, where the WorldsAway client acted as a passthrough of information essentially. This also allowed for interesting users such as macros to allow people to pre-write and save text which could be sent out as a message inworld at the click of a button.
Plugins carried over into VZones and beyond.
